Hi Guys,
Just a short post this time. The Wolves of War is with my editor at present, so I started on the cover and blurb stage. Unfortunately two previous attempts at using photos fell through as each time I found a photo I liked a check of the sites revealed that the owners had no idea who actually took the pictures, and I'm not game to use a photo without the permission of the owner. So in the end I did some shopping and bought a cover. I was going for something slightly fantastic as Wolves is an epic fantasy, and also a little on the scary side but trying to avoid the entire werewolf side, as the book isn't that.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers, Greg.
Greg, the red writing is hard to read. It is ok on the front as it is bold but on the back the writing is hard to see. Suggest you don't have the wolf on the back cover, just the front.

Hi Lucy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. Will think about it. But I really want that image to grab people's attention and I want the full cover to be a seemless whole.
Cheers, Greg.
Greg,
ReplyDeleteThe cover is awesome! Just curious as to how the book is doing? Been awhile since an update. Take your time though because I am looking forward to another great book.
Dave
Hi Dave,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. Wolves is currently with my editor undergoing its second edit. She's about a third of the way through and says it's going well. So with luck it'll be out in about a month. Of course we just had an earthquake which may throw a spanner in the works.
Cheers, Greg.
Hi Greg,
ReplyDeleteThat is good and bad news. I'm glad that everything is going well for the book but am sorry to hear about the quake. Hope everything is alright. Can't wait to get my hands on the finished product.
Dave
Hi Dave
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know that the second edit is complete and back with Greg. I enjoyed this one and I hope you do too. As for the quake zone, he's in Rotorua so missed it - but is having rotten weather instead. I am much closer in Wellington and believe me, we felt it! But all is well.
Cheers
Hi
ReplyDeleteThis is great news all around, especially about the quake. I'm sorry to hear about the bad weather but nature rarely plans her reign of terror around our wishes. Best wishes to the both of you and I have a feeling I'm going to thoroughly enjoy wolves.
